THE STRANGER (Luk. 24,13-35) 
(den fremmede) 

I followed two who were going 
in sorrow on the road to Emmaus. 
I saw, that everything they believed in layed in rubble, 
and pretanded that I wantet to say good-bye. 

But the light was sinking and the day was at its end 
in the country around Emmaus. 
They saw, that I was a stranger in every house and asked me: 
traveller, stay with us this evening. 

I stayed with them and heard that they sat awake 
and spoke about a brother, 
whom God let die alone and forsaken. 

So I stood up and worried about those words. 
Alone I went away from the night in town 
and devoted me to animals, and trees, and the earth.
